Oroua Rugby Union.

A meeting, convened by the BinningFootball Club, of delegates from clubs in the district was held at Harrison's Hotel, Birmingham, on Thursday night, the 30th ult. The following clubs were represented : — Apiti Football Club, Messrs MeGuire and O'Beilly ; Cheltenham, Messrs Templar and Sykes ; Euahine, Messrs Marshall and Bennett; Birmingham, Messrs Harrison and Barlow. Colyton was invited but did not send representatives. It was decided to form a union of the above clubs, to be called the Ocoua Rugby Union, and to affiliate with the Manawatu Union. Mr A. "W. Harrison was elected President of the Union, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded him for presenting a cup for competition and his undertaking to provide medals for presentation to members of winning team. Messrs Templer and O'Beilley were elected delegates to the Manawatu Union. Messrs Harrison and Barlow were appointed auditors, and Mr B. U. Harden hon. secretary and treasurer. The election of other officers was postponed till next meeting. A quantity of general business was gone into, and it was decided to ask Mr A. C. Matheson to arrange fixtures for interclub matches. The meeting concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to the Chairman.
