The Late Sir Henry Parkes.

(Per Press Association.) Sydney, April 29. Mr Chamberlain cabled stating that Her Majesty and the Imperial Government heard with regret of the death of Sir Henry Parkes, who was so long a prominent figure in Australian politics. - ; Telegrams and letters of condolence have been pouring in from all parts of the colonies. Over fifty wreaths arrired yesterday, including emblems 'from Lords Hampden, Glasgow, Garrington, and all the Colonial Governments. Later. The funeral of the late Sir Henry Parkes took place- to day. It took the shape of a NationaJ tribute to the memory of the statesman, and the scene was most impressive. The route from Kenilwortb to the city was lined with, mourners, and most of the houses were' draped. The route along which the cortege passed was densely crowded. The hearse and two carriages were completely bidden by beautiful wreaths. ! Escorted by a guard of mounted troopers were the Governors carriage, and those . of Ministers and members of both branches of the legislature. The civil service was represented by all heads of departments, while innumerable private vehicles followed. A special train conveyed the coffin and a large number of friends and members of Parliament to Falconbridge in the Bine Mountains, a beautiful spot chosen by deceased as his last resting place. The scene at the grave was most affecting. This Day. The Colonial Party passed a resolution recognising the great services of Sic Henry Parkes and deploring his death as a loss to the Empire,
