(Per Press Association) Capetown, April 24. The telegraph wirea have been cut twenty miles South of Buluwayo. , A sortie from Buluwayo drove the Matabele across the Umgusui River. Trooper Baxter, while in tihe act of handing him his horse, was assegaid. Melbourne, April 23. The proposal to send a contingent to South Africa was received coldly by the authorities. The Treasurer states there is no money available, and further England does not require help.
