A Postmaster Committed for Trial.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, April 23. The late postmaster at Taupo was' charged this morning at the Police Court, before Mr H. W. Northcroft, S M,, that he did on February Ist at Taupo steal £26, the property of the Queen. Mr McAlister appeared - for the Crown, and Mr McGregor for accused, who pleaded not guilty. His Worship thought a pritna facie case had been made out. The points raised by McGregor would be for the Supreme Court to decide. Accused reserved bis defence, and was committed for trial, bail being allowed in two - sureties of £50 each, and accused in £50.
