Stock Market.
(Per Press Association) . Johnsonville, April 22. F. R. Jackson & Co. report as follows : —The beef entered for the market was from middling to prime. Some very good bullocks were penned. The bidding was spirited both .for cattle and sheep. A few pens of really well styed grain fed bacon pigs sold at full values. Grass fed pigs were dull of sale, and young pigs were bard to quit. We had a fair market for grain fed pigs. Cattle — Best bullocks. £1 10s; do JEB ss; others, £6 5s ; do., £1 ss; small bullocks, £5 10s to 1.6, equal to 16s the 1001 b. Sheep — No fat wethers came forward. Ewes, 7s 6d to 8s Id ; heavy ewes, 9s 4d ; store wethers, 7s 7d ; eves 4s 8d ; lambs, 3s 4d to S.s Id. Pigs — (Grain fed), baconers, 27s to 345; good stores, 12s to 16s; suckers, Is 6d to Is 9d. Mr R. E. Beckett reports : I held my usual monthly sale at Marton on Friday. The yards were filled with both sheep and cattle. Lambs and wethers sold briskly showing a decided rise. There were but few lambs yarded, and the demand for same is keen. I could place a large number of good shorn lambs at a fair price. I quote : Fat bullocks £5 to £5 15s ; forward bullocks £3 17s 6d ; 2-year steers £2 17s 6d ; yearlings £1 7s 6d to £1 17s 6d ; cows £2 to £8. Forward wethers '7s Id to 7s lid : store wethers 6s 9d to 7s ; good lambs 3s 9d to 5s lid ; good ewes all ages 5s ; 2-tooth ewes 6d 6d ; old ewes 2s 3d to 3s.
