A Shocking Tragedy at Sea.

(Per Press Association). Sydney, This Day. Tbe Tsinan brings news of a tragedy on the high seas. The American schooner Lyman D. Foster, which arrived at Shanghai reported ou February 25th the Chinese cook attacked Captain Dreyfcr with an axe. The mate went to bis assistance and was badly wounded in seyeral places on tbe bead. Tbe cook tbeu drew a revolver and shot the Captain twice in the breast. He next attacked a sailor with an axe, and severely wounded him. Eventually the man took refuge in tbe galley which he soaked in kerosene and set on fire. After much resistance the crew succeeded in capturing and tying him up, but while they were getting tbe fire under lie undid the lashings and jumped overboard. Tbe captain died the following day.
