Banking Matters.
(Per Press Association.) Sydney, March 31. The Union Bank has uotiefied tbat it intends to withdraw from the Bankers Association, and act independently in all the colonies in the matter of rates of interest. It is understood that the main reason of this action is that by taking an independent course the Bank will be better able to meet the competition which has lately been accentuated by an abundance of money. Melbourne, This Day. The otber Victorian Banks bave followed the example of tbe Union Bank and withdrawn from the Bankers Association.
