Manawatu Land Drainage Board.

The adjourned meeting of the above was held yesterday at Palmerston. The following correspondence was received : — . . c From Mr G. M. Leich, complaining 01 the delay in commencing work oh the drain through his property. The Chairman and Engineer were authorised to interview Hon. W. Johnston in regard to the question of giving his consent to the drain being made through his land. In the event of Mr Johnston not giving his consent, it was decided to take the drain on another line of route along Mr Johnston's boundary, and call for tenders for the work at once. , „ The following transfers on rate roll were ordered : -D. Grant to F. Nathan ; P. Desmond to Jas. Bennett. The Clerk was instructed to write to the manager of the Bank of New Zealand, requesting permission to overdraw to the Bank's legal limit.
