The Butter Market in London.

The following is an extract from a London report to the New Zealand Farmers' Dairy Union on butter shipments : — "We are pleased to be able to state that the market remains in a satisfactory condition, and since we wrote on this head last week it may be concluded that prices are all round 2s to 3s better. The Danes are now asking for their finest 114s to 116s ; for next class, 110s to 112s. Australians are seeking for finest, 108s to 110s ; and forsecond-clasa 102s to 106s, New Zealand best may be quoted to-day 105s to 108s ; second-class 95s to 102s. The writer examined the butter by the Otarama, and must confess that the Dairy Union is as near perfection as possible. It need only continue in the same way and in a short time it will come up nearly, if not equal to, the pet Australian brands. Of course it is not quite up to that yet, and, even were it so, it must take some time to break away that prejudice which for a few years has existed in favor of Australian over New Zealand. As it is we are near thorn by 2s to Ss per cwfc."
