Cricket News.

On Saturday last a match was played at Feilding between teams representing Colyton and Carnarvon Clubs, and resulted in an easy win for the former by an innings and nine runs. The best team undoubtedly won, but it is only fair to Carnarvon to mention that they played with five substitutes and they -would probably have made a better stand had the team selected been able to play. Carnarvon batted first and were all out for 29. Colyton then batted and at the luncheon adjournment had three wickets down for one run, but a different complexion was put on the game when J. Entwisle and Reade got together, the former putting together 14 runs before he was disposed of, and the latter 32. ■D. Entwisle, also, reached double figures, his score being 13. The balance of the team only made six runs between them. In their second innings Carnarvon were scarcely more successful than in the first innings. The only player to reach double figures being Hight, with 13, the bowling of J. and W. Entwisle being too disastrous to their opponents. Afternoon tea was kindly provided by Mesdames Lethbridge and Sorley and much appreciated by the players. Following are the scores : — Carnarvon — Ist innings. J. Robinson, bW. Entwisle ... ... 3 A.
