b (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, February 12. , There was a good attendance, and inecl--1 him entries of stock at the Aldington 1 Markets to-day, but the business was by 1 no means brisk. Fat cattle.— The values realised were : . — steers L 5 15s to L 7 7s 6d ; heifers, ) L 4 78 6d to L 5 10s ; and cows, L.4 to L 6, f beiog at rate of 18s to 20s per lOOlbs for > 6teer and best heifer beef, and from 14b i to 18s for inferior and cow sorts. I Dairy cows.— Medium entry of fairly . good quality met with rather a dull sale I the best price feahsed being L 7 6s. Store cattle. — A good yarding met with 1 poor demand, Forward 2A year-old i steers, L 3 103 ; yearlings. 27* ; store cows, 1 LI to L 2 15s. Fat sheep. — The entry was smaller ; than usual, the bulk being crossbred ewes . of varied quality with a few pens of ; freezers. The sale was irregular. The s best crossbred freezing wethers, 12s 9d to ; 14s ; secondary ditto, 9s 6d to 12s 63 ; 1 best heavy we)ght ewes, 10a to 12a ; good ■ butchers' ewes, 8s to 9a ; medium do, 6s ' 6d to 7s 6d ; merino wethers, 6s to 8s ; ewes, 3s to ss. Fat Lambs. — The yarding was larger than for some weeks past, and the quality mixed. Butchers' lots 6s 6d to 8s 6d ; freezing quality, 9s to 11s 6d. 1 Store Sheep. — Four-tooth crossbred wetherp, 9s 74 to Us ; 5 tooib do, 8s 6d ! to 10s ; 4 tooth ewes, 7s to 9a ; 2 tooth do, 6s 6d to 8s ; mixed ages sound mouthed, 5s to 6s 6d ; merino ewes, 2s to 4s 6d : reject crossbred lambs, 5a to 7s 3d. 1 Pigs. The prices realised were 36s to 45s for choppers, 3Q$ to 44s for baconers, , 13s to 34s for porkers, 9s to 15s 6d for good stores, and 4s to §3 Qd for smaller sorts.
