(Per Press Association.) Melbourne, This Day. At the Lormer enquiry Detective O'Donnell gave evidence that he arrested Mrs Rappiport on a charge of stealing. Mr Kappiporc asked him to withdraw the charge, although his wife made an admission of thes offence. Rappiport declared O'Donnell's statement to be a deliberate falsehood. Sydney, Feb. 10. Despite his repeated intention to retire from political life, Sir Henry Parkes has definitel}' decided to contest the vacancy in the Legislative Assembly for Waverley, caused by the death of Mr A. Cameron from apoplexy.
