(Per Press Association!. Chkistchurck, Jan. 31. The following candidates from Palmcrstou North have passed the University examinations : -H. H. Wilson (who qualified for matriculation junior scholarship examinations), J. Jamieson, H. E. Bowatcr, J. B. Smith. A. M. L. Wood, C T. Warne, H. Coventry and E. Mugridge. E. J. Prendergast passed the solicitors' general knowledge examination. The Premier arrived this morning. Ja response to an invitation he addressed a meeting of the Government supporters to-night. A resolution was passed inviting him to address a public meeting later on; and he agreed to do so. He leaves for Dunedin to-mor-row. Auckland, This Day. At the annual mooting of the New Zealand Accident Insurance) Company the report showed that .£2OOO has been transferred to reserve fund, and j£looo each to insurance and contingent liabilities accounts. Messrs Thomas Buddie and W. S. Wilson were re-elected directors. Lyttelton, Jan. 31. The barque Dunblane, which called at Otago Heads for orders a month ago, and was ordered on to Picton, put in here last night. She made Cook Strait eight times, and each time was blown south by a north-west gale. As she ran short of provisions and lost four or five sails the captain decided to make foi: Lyttelton.
