Drought in the Gisborne District

(Per Press Association.) Gisborne, This Day. The cast coast as far north as the East Cape is feeling severely the effect of the drought. Creeks which had not known before to fail have been dried up. At Waipiro the residents of the township had to carry water in boats across the bay— distance of 5 miles. At Awanui tbe residents begged a barrel or two of water from passing coastal steamers.
