The Pacific Cable
(Per Press Association.) London, January 26. Mr Playford, Agent-General for South Australia, considers the Pacific cable will be wholly in the interests of Canada, and believes it unlikely that England will pay anything towards the losses by South Australia if the new cable is constructed. He adds that it would be a mistake for the colonies to tie the hands of the delegates to the Imperial Colonial Conference.
