FURTHER COMPLICATIONS. | Per Press Associationj London, January 5. The leading newspapers in the metropolis and provinces, in discussing the Transvaal crisis, recognise the menacing concern of other Powers against Great Britain and advise Government to increase the armaments. The Press generally agrees it is time it was made clear that England will not submit to be bullied either singly or unitedly. It is possible the Imperial Parliament will be summoned at an earlier date than was at first intended. January 6. The Times' correspondent wires that President Kruger has stopped food supplies in Johannesberg and arrested the members of the Uitlanders' Committee and prohibited their entrance into the Transvaal without a passport bearing his own signature. The Times comments on the significance of the reported formation of a German colonising company in the Transvaal. Pretoria, January 7. The Germans are forming a colonising Company to introduce five thousand military settlers. Hofmeyer has wired to President Kruger denouncing Jameson's expedition, and expressing the hope that the Boers will be victorious. By the railway accident at Daunbausen 32 were killed and 50 injured, chiefly fugitives. When the news was received of Jameson's expedition President Kruger told the Uitlander's committee that a force of 4000 Boers had started to intercept the party.
