• - ♦• A well contested game between the Manawatn and Fordell (first) polo teams was played at Fordell on Friday, resulting in a victory for Manawatu by six goals to nil. The goals were secured by Baker (2), Snow (1), and Lloyd (3). . The Manawatu second team were defeated by Fordell second by 8 goals to 1, the latter score being obtained by Poidevin. The following were the teams : — No. 1 team — Messrs R. S. Abraham, Baker, Snow and Lloyd. No. 2 team— L. Skerman, Podeviu, Porritt, and Sewell. On Saturday Manawatu second defeated Wanganui second by 9 goals tol. The teams were hospitably entertained at afternoon tea, which was provided by Mesdames Higgie, Young, Chapman and other ladies.
(Per Press Association). Napier, Dec. 30. At the polo match, Ruatanawha v. Wellington, to-day, the former scored six goals to the latter's three. Baldwin was unable to play for Wellington. Crosse took his place. Arthur Cooper scored all the goals for the visitors. Skerrett showed particularly good play*
