An open letter has been addressed to a leading official of the League of Wheelmen to brother cyclists in the colonies, suggesting federation of Australian leagues, and disclosing a scheme for its accomplishment. Each Colony to have a centre located in the capital town and each branch to have power to fix its own subscription and entrance fee. The first cargo of Californian wheat arrived by the steamer Kahilui. It amounts to eleven hundred tons. Arrived Botomahana, from Auckland. Adelaide, December 28. Perth, Dec. 28. The returns of the crushing of stone from the Great Boulder mine, Kalgoorhe, from April to December, gives 61 ounces to the ton. The Lake View output for twelve months averaged 3 ounces. Hobart, Dec. 28. Lieutenant St. Hill, of the Southern Tastnanian Artillery, passed his final examination for a Commission of the Imperial Army. The Agent-General advises the Government that St. Hill will i bo gazetted to the regiment at an early date. Melbourne .December, 24. The clearing house returns from January are L 12 7,973,000, being an increase of L 5,115,000 compared with last year. Brisbane, This Day The Government has accepted a local tender for 30 good locomotives. From information received it is certain Mcllwraith will not be able to accept the Ageut' Generalship. Mr C. S.
