ASHURT-POHANGINA ANGINA HACK MEETING.
A large crowd journeyed from Palmerston, Feilding and Hawke's Bay to Saturday's meeting, and the district settlers rolling up in great forco, there was a record attendance, there being about 1200 people present. Mr P. Murtagh's starting machine was used at the meeting. The sum of £'4202 was put through the totalisator during the day. Results : — Maiden Hurdles— Bush Girl 1, Hilda | II 2, Belmo '6. Won under the whip by j a length. Dividend, JtH 7s. I Flying Handicap — Iphimede l.Titoki 2, Streamlet H. Won easily by two lengths. Dividend, £*2. Manawatu Gorge Handicap— Aio 1, Slumber 2, Kauri Gum a. Wou by a length. Dividend. £6 11s. Maiden Plato — First Uesult 1, Stockade 2, Sweet Sleep 3. Wou by a length and three quarters. Dividend, £2"i 6s. Siberia Handicap- Iphimede I_, Streamlet 2, Allington 3. Won easily by a length. Dividend, £1 10s. Visitors' Handicap — Reality 1, Violet 2. First Sight H. Won comfortably by two lengths. Dividend, £1 16s. Pohangina Handicap — Aio 1. Slumber 2, Mystical 3. Won by half a head. Dividend, £2 '6s. Scurry Stakes — Reality 1, Acme 2, First Result -». Won by two lengths. Dividend, £2 2s.
