Some interesting figures published show «he extent of the pastime has taken bold of the public In 18K7 the value of the machines imported was £13,000 ; iv 1894, £27,000 ; while for the ten months of the present year over L 29.000 worth was imported. These figures are importer's prices. Owing to machines eounnsj in parts it is hard to estimate the number of machines, but | 3000 per annum is probably the mark.
