Accidents and Fatalities.
! (Per Press Association), Auckzjuo>, Dec 28. Thos. Ghent, night groom in Paterson and Co.'s stables, was found dead in the stables. Death is believed to be due to heart disease. He bad been refused life insurance, He leaves a widow and two children. A man and woman named Woodward were found drowned in a creek at Hender* son's Valley. No further particulars haye been received. At Paeroa, Ernest Debangh, while bathing, was seized with' cramp, font while sinking the second time, was rescued by George Nicholls. Gisboene, December 28. The body of Miss Nbrris, drowned on the Ifeth instant, has been recovered. An old man named John Tandy hat died very suddenly at Mota. The cor. oner's jury returned a verdict of death from natural causes. Chbistchcbch, Dec. 23. A man named William Collins died suddenly this morning at Styx, aged 74. The body of a man named Thomas Dixon was found on the sandhills at New Brighton last night. 'He was about 46 years of age, and only returned to the colony by the last trip of the Kaikoura. He had apparently been dead for 24 hours. There were no marks of violence.
