Friendly Societies' Picnic.
♦ The Friendly Societies of Palmerston North and also the Good Templar's Lodge are inaugurating an . annual- out-, ing by holding a picnio at Westoe on New Year's Day. Mr J. Howard has kindly granted permission to the Societies to hold the picnic on his grounds. The site chosen is a very pretty one for scenery, and no donbt there wiU bp a large gathering on the day. The various societies in Feilding, Ashnrst, a&4 elsewhere have been invited to join ig the excursion. The fares from FeUding have been fixed at the low price of $i for adult? and Is for children, which will t ■ include admission to the ground* H<>i water and qiilk will hp provided free to the public.
