__ — ♦ MURDER AT NEW HEBRIDES. (Per Press Association.) Brisbane, This Day A tick plague is ravaging stock with great virulence. It even attacked the wallabis, kangaroos, snakes, and iguanas. This Day. The tick pest is assuming alarming dimensions, so that the infested districts are declared quarantine grounds. Sir C. Lilly has been seized by a mild attack of apoplexy. His left side is aiightly paralysed. Sydney, December 20. Smith, Ellis, Holman, Woolridge, Brassie, Rowens, Routley and Love, directors and officers of the defunct labour paper, the Daily Post, have been committed for trial for conspiracy. In connection with the murder of Hossie at New Hebrides, the captain of the French steamer Ocean Hover, recently landed with an armed crew and secured three of the murderers, who were conveyed to Noumea for trial. He learned that the body of Rossie was exhumed by the natives wbo stuck the head on a pole and used the arm and leg bones for tipping spears.
