BELL TOWER TENDERS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib,— The Public Works Committee rejected the tenders for the removal and alterations to the Bell Tower on the plea of their being too high. Sir, I don't think that was the true reason. lam under the impression tbat it was because the cost of alteration was not granted, or allowed for, by the Council. The least the Council, in rejecting the tenders, could do would be to thank the tenderers for their time and experience, or remunerate them. I am, etc., Wai. Heald.
