Water ofLeith Talley, McDonald, who was with deceased, s,aid before starting on Sunday, Bth instant, they had. boiled water, oatmeal and some flour mixed. About 6 p.m., Robertsqn got tired but, and they slept under a bpsh, peeping off the ra?n as beat theypoqld. Jn. the morning Qobertspn said be did not know where they were, and wanted to go back up the gully. McDonald decid- , ed to follow the water. After Jpakiqg ( two rests he got on the tracjk., which led ; to a honse. Qe asked, the man for a cup ) of tea. The man said he bad no bread, j A* th<s man might think him a Joafer he ( went on, telling the man his mate was t in the bush. The man was a foreigner, \ and may not' hare understood nim. } On reaohing Clarke's store at Wood- . haugh he had something to eat. He did j not know what he told them at Clarkes', j as he was dazed. Clarke, followed him j to his honse,' when he told him all he i could. The jury returned a verdict to y the effect that Robertson came by his , death through exhaustion and exposure, t and added v rider that in their opinion * McDonald' ought to Jhave taken ' better steps afte^r hc f came out of the bosh to c have Rpber^on rescued. ,
