Shocking Domestic Tragedy.
(Per Press Association) Sydney, This Day. A domestic tragedy is reported from I Guildford. Mrs Trenchards surrendered to tbe police, stating she had killed her husband who was found dead outside the house with a deep wound in his neck. The woman's story is that her husband came home drunk on Saturday and ill-treated her. He renewed this conduct on Sunday, and armed himself with an axe and a knife with which he attempted to strike her. She ran out of the house and he followed her, and tried to stab her whereupon she snatcned the knife, and struck him a fatal blow. The parties had been separated for some years, but the woman returned recently in order to nurse her little daughter, who was ill of fever.
