NEW SOUTH WALES V. QUEENSLAND.

Sydney, December 14. The first innings of the New South Wales' team closed for 485. The additional leading scores were— Walters 150, Gould 52. McGlinchy took three wickets for 93, Conuingham four for 175, Hoare one for 29, and O'Brien one for 64. Queensland, first innings— six wickets for 214. Chief scorers — McDonnell 65, Conningham, not out 119. The batting of F. Walters (an ex- Victorian) was a fine display of fast and aggressive cricket. He was at the wickets for four hours, and helped to put on 283 runs. Percy McDonnell and Conningham opened for Queensland and began to make thinks warm from the jump. The pair were not separated till the board showed 105, of which McDonnell bad made 60 in 48min.
