.» Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — Business during tbe week has been brisk iv cattle. At Pabiatua on Tuesday we had a full yard, and almost all sold at prices in favor of vendor ; young cattle particularly advanced in price. Yesterday at Palmerston there was a moderate entry of cattle. Keen competition existed throughout for steers. Female stock in limited inquiry only, springers and milch cows neglected. A mob of 1000 overland wethers of good quality made up the chief portion of the sheep entry. The price offered was barely up to vendors' figures and so went out unsold. Fat ewes of medium weight and quality sold freely. Forward bullocks, £4 7s ; 2 year steers, £3 13s 6d ; yearling steers, £2 7s ; springing heifers, £3 3s to £4 ; milch cows, M 12s to £4 lGs ; weaners, 33s 6d to 375 ; mixed yearlings, 41s 6d ; fat ewes, 7s ; 4-tooth wethers, 8s 6d ; ewes and lambs, 11s 3d. At Palmerston— Fat bullocks, £6 5s ; forward do, £5 ss ; 3-yr steers, £4 17s ; 2£year do, M 15s 6d to £'3 18s ; 2-yr do, £3 4s ; 18month steers, £2 8s to £2 13s ; cows and calves, £3 15s 6d ; fat cows, £i 13s ; yearling heifers, 41s ; mixed yearlings, 38s 6d to 455 ; small weaners, 22s to 24s ; fat ewes, 6s 5d to 7s Id. Freeman B. Jackson and Co.'s Wanganui report (telegraphed last night to the New Zealand Times) is as follows : — We held a small sale at Waverley with no alteration in values. At Wanganui we had a capital sale of cattle. The bidding was brisk, and prices improved considerably. Sheep also made full values. Pigs were without quotable change. Cattle — At Waverley: Heifers, £& 7s 6d ; cows, £2 7s ; yearlings, 34s 6d. At Wanganui: Forward bullocks, £5 ; fat cows, 4s ; heifers, £2 3s 6d to ±3 ; steers, £2 16s to £8 7s 6d ; yearlings, 33s to 395 ; cows, £3 to £3 125. Sheep— At Waverley : — Ewes and lambs, 6s 2d. At Wanganui : Shorn hoggets, 7s Id ; fat ewes, 6s to 6s lOd ; wethers, 8s 9d to 9s ; ewes and wethers mixed, 8s ; pigs, porkers, 18s to 21s ; smaller pork, lls to 14s 6d ; small pigs, 5s to Bs.
