The English, Scottish & Australian Bank Scheme.
(Pcs Peess Assoc&tion.) London, Dec. 7. The general opinion in the city is favourable to the proposals of the Enghsh, Scottish and Australian Bank. The j Times considers they deserve the favorable consideration of the shareholders. The Standard thinks it possible to say much in favor of the scheme. The Chronicle says the position of the Bank is undoubtedly strong, though there is an uncertainty of the future, and believes if tbe scheme passes probably other Banks will endeavour to make the same arrangements.
