Australian Harvest.
(Per Press Association.) MttßoußNS, Dec. 7. | If the latest expert estimate of a yield of five bushels of wheat proves correct there is considered to be no occasion to fear Victoria will have to import any. On the other hand such a low average practically means that for the new season the market will be a local one. Ai>F.i.ATT>K, December 7. Harvesting operations are becoming i general, the early-gown crops, in many instances, proving a surprise by yielding more than was expected. Owing to the recent mild weather the grain filled out well. How, far this applies to later crops remains to be seen. The general opinion is tbey will reduce the average, and that the return for the whole colony wjll not exceed 8^ to 4 bushelg, bat the estimates are as low as bushels.
