Stock Market
o Messrs Gorton and Son held a stock sale at their Feilding yards yesterday, there being a very good attendance. Upwards of 500 head of cattle were yarded, bnt sheep were in short supply, the number which came forward not being up to the advertised numbers. There was a fair demand for grown bullocks and steers and all yarded sold at prices in favor of the vendors. The following are quotations:—Cattle.—Bullocks, £3 18s 6d to SA 15s; light fat cows £4 to M 12s 6d ; forward bullocks. L 5 12s ; 2. year steers, L 3 to Lt) 10s 6d ; 2to 3 year mixed cattle, L 3; empty heifers, L 2 10<i to L 3; yearlings tb 10-months mixed cattle, L 2 toL2 5s 6d; weaners, 80s to 37s 6d; small weaners, 21s; store cows, LB. Sheep.— Woolly hoggets, 9s 5d to lis Id ; 2-tooth wethers 5s 6d to 6s 7d; 4-tobth shorn wethers 8s 2d ; shorn ewes, 5s 6d. Store pigs 7s to 10s.
