The Turkish Crisis.
THE POPE'S PRACTICAL SYMPATHY. FRESH OUTBREAK AT CESAREA. (Per Press Association.) Rome, Dec. 5. The Pope has sent 50,000 lire to the distressed Armenians. A fresh outbreak has occurred at Cesarea, and sixty Armenians were killed. The Governor of the town has been dismissed for not taking precautions to prevent the outbreak. Later. It is reported here that Said Pasha has sought refuge in the British Embassy in Constantinople. Vienna, December 5. It is rumoured here that unless a firman is issued by the Porte in 72 hours, giving effect to the wishes of tne Powers, their gunboats will proceed to the Bosphorus. St. Petersburg, Dec. 5. The Coloque Times states that a month ago Russia believed Great Britain intended to enter the Dardanelles without consulting the other powers. Therefore instructions were sent to the Russian agents at Sebastopol to pre- j pare vessels, and be ready to sail in 24 hours. Already, it says a fleet of 16 Russian ships has assembled there.
