Primitive Methodist Church.

_p. The quarterly meeting of the above Church was held at Campbelltown yesterday and was attended by the officials of the circuit. The state of the station was encouraging. Ten names were added to tbe members roll and the income for the quarter was about £63, which left a small deficiency. Delegates were appointed to the Conference to be held in Timaru in January next. A tea and public meeting was held, when addresses were given, the subjects of which had been selected for the speakers, by Mr Gould on "Revivals, their need and benefits and how they are to be brought about;" Mr Fidler on "Individual effort ;" Mrs Richardson on " Singers and singing ;" Mr Lucas on " The power of sacred song in the service of God ;" Mr J. C. Thompson on " The gospel as the grand remedy for social discontent." The addresses were very interesting and 1 instructive. The Rev. J. Cocker presided over the meeting and Miss A. Jarvis presided at the organ. Some ' good singing was rendered by the choir. Votes of thanks moved by Mr J. Merritt and seconded by Mr Broadbelfbrought a very interesting meeting to a close.
