AUSTRALIAN CABLES.
SENTENCED TO DEATH. KANAKA LABOR TRAFFIC. (Per Pret;s Association.) Adelaide, Dec. 4. Local passengers by the Australian were landed on the quarantine ground. Tbe small-pox patient aud other passengers were taken on to their destination. A full vote of the Legislative Assembly rejected the motion, condemning the Kanaka labor traffic by 33 to 21. Melbourne, This Day. A young man named Strange, who murdered a fellow swagsman named Sandy, at Cunningham, on Bth November last, bas been sentenced to death. Sydney, December 4. The Postmaster- Generals of Victoria and Queensland will arrive in Sydney towards the end of the week to confer with the local Postmaster-General with reference to the selection of representatives for tbe colonies on the Pacific Cable Con. ference. In the Assembly the Premier made a Ministerial statement, hoping the session would be ended by the 20th. It is expected to pass the Taxation, Federal Enabling, Public Service, and one or two other important Bills before the adjournment. In the Council the Land and Income Tax and Customs Abolition Bills passed through Committee without amendments.
