Manawatu Cricket Association.
A meeting of delegates to the Manawatu Cricket Union was he'd at Light's Hotel, Feilding on Saturday evening last, the following delegates being present : — W. Dickson, Feilding Club ; M. Kew, Sandon ; D. Entwisle, Colyton ; W. W. Hedge, Birmirigham ; J. G. Browne, Pohangina ; T. Anyon, Campbelltown ; Mr A. H. Tompkins (secretary), and Mr A. G. Carty (treasurer;. Mr Carty was elected chairman. A letter was received from Mr H. P. Lance, accepting tbe position of vicePresident to the Club. The Secretary reported that he was getting a design for championship certificate, and it was decided to leave the matter in his hands to arrange with the winners for hist season (Colyton) and, also, the previous season (Palmerston), to whom tho certificates will be given. Resolved, Tbat Mr W. A.L. Bailey be a vice President of the Association. A resolution by Mr Browne, tbat all players should play for the Club whose practice ground was nearest his postal address, was negatived. Ou the motion of Mr Tompkins, seconded by Mr Entwisle, it was resolved, That tlie Association undertake the responsibility cf providing a wicket at Feilding, and that foreign clubs pay a fee of 5s 6d each for every match. It was resolved that the matter of a touring team be left in the bands of tbe Secretary, Treasurer, and delegate from the Feilding Club, to deal with. It was announced that Mr Bastings had promised a trophy to the highest scorer during the present season.
