SECOND DAY.
The weather was again fine for today's races, and the attendance was almost as ffood as on the previous day. Watte) 1 22 Mr R. Connop's Amoureux, 7-13 (H. Fairbrother) 2 43 Mr W. C. Harley's Tutanekai 612 (L. Matthews) ... 3 Also started — Umslopogaas (8-12j, Moonraker (8-9), [Revolution (7-7), First Result (6-7). Amoureux was the first to move to the fronti with Ben Vartey second. On turning into the straight the latter went to the front, and won after a hard struggle by about half a length, Tutanekai being about two lengths away third. Totalisator, £ 383 ; dividend, £8 Bs. Time, lmin 4 4-ssecs. Second Handicap Hurdles, of 50 soys ; second horse 5 soys from stakes ; If miles. 74 Mr J. T. Moore's Dante, 11-11 (G. Laing) 1 21 Mr C. Leen's Spreydon, 9-0. (McTaggart) ... ... 2 92 Mr R. Kingan's Auroa 10-0 (owner) 3 Also started— Lord Vivian (10-0), Narrate (9-5), Wharite (9-0).. Spreydon led from the start to the bend into the straight, when Dante challenged bis lead and, after a hard fought race, won by a half-length, Auroa and Narrate being close together about two lengths away. Totalisator, i'B62 ; dividend, JM Bs. Time, 3min 29 l-ssec. Second Hack Hurdles, of 30 soys, second horse 5 soys from the stakes ; 1^ miles. Mr J. R. McDonald's Revenue 9-0 (J Redmond) ... ... 1 Mr W. Robert's Barman 10-9 (R, Arnott) 2 Mr P. Wotton's Nat 11-0 (J Morris) ;. 8 Also started— Scrap Iron, Penelope, Dutchman. Scrap Iron, who was lead* ing fell early is the race, his rider, Anderson, being knocked against the rails and rendered unconscious. Renenue led past the stand for the first time but was replaced by Barman at the back of the course. At the home torn Revenue came again and won by half a length after a close finish. Dividend, £5 13s Manchester Handicap-r-Leda 1, Loreli 2, Brooklet 3. Dividend, £3 15s.
