A SERIOUS CHARGE. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, Noyr. 25. Kidd, ex-Postmaster-General, has began an action against W. J. Collins, claiming £2000 damages for alleged slander during the election campaign. Collins is alleged to have publicly stated that Kidd allowed his friends to travel with his Parliamentary railway pass. Captain Muuro, of the vessel Canada, has been arrested on a similar charge on which the chief officer (McLelland) has been arrested, viz., causing the death of a seamen on the high seas. Sailed —Alemeda for 'Frisco via Auckland.
