The Feikiing S.M. Court will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday next. The Kiwitea aud Pohangina County Councils will meet on Wednesday next. Tomlinson has been appointed agent for Feilding and the surrounding districts which he will visit shortly. We have to acknowledge receipt from the Government printer of the Acts passed last session, and from the Department of Agriculture of a copy of a report on the Prospects of Viticulture in New Zealand, by Romeo Bragato, Viticultural expert for the Government of Victoria. The "Feilding Tuis," among whom are several amateurs of recognised musical talent and ability as nigger delineators, will give a performance in the Assembly Rooms on Friday next in aid of the " piano fund " of the Feilding String Band. As the object is a really deserving one we trust the "Tuis" will be liberally supported, A man up New Plymouth way had a horse which would not eat straw. In order to overcome the objection of the animal to this cheap fodder, the owner provided the horse with a pair of green spectacles so that it now eats the straw greedily in the belief it is grass. We fancy we have beard this yarn before but it is new in Taranaki. Over thirty railway employee assembled at the Railway Hotel, at Palmerston, on Saturday evening to commemorate the election of Mr T. "Wilson to the Railway Board of Appeal and to present him with an illuminated testimonial for the services he has rendered to his fel-low-employes in the past. Mr Pirani, M.H.R., made the presentation. An important advertisement appears to-day from Messrs Gorton and Son, who, in thanking the settlers for the genuine support accorded to the firm in the past, now announce that in future they will hold fortnightly sales of stock in Feildißg. Ibe next sale here will take place on December 6th, for which entries are invited. To-day Mr George Thomas, of Arnott street, announces that on and after December Ist, he will open a milk walk in Feilding and suburbs. Mr Thomas has a first class herd of well bred milch cows with a strain of Jersey running through them, and be claims to be able to supply the very best quality of milk. Cream will also be supplied in any quantity. Our readers are reminded of the popular lecture entitled " Tom o' Jack's Lad " to be delivered in the Primitive Methodist Church on Wednesday next. At the close of thp lecture there will be a social gathering, the sole charge of which is in the hands of Mrs Richard Treveua. As the charge for the lecture and social is only one shilling, there ought to be a good attendance.
