A Pitiable Case.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, Nov. 20. Duncan Campbell, aged 70, ex-captain of the 9th Regiment, in receipt of a pension, was sentenced to 24 weeks' imprisonment at Mt. Eden Gaol, without hard labor. He was found at Rotorua I wandering about in a destitute condition. He had been at the Costley Home, but left of his own accord and walked to Rotorua. The Home authorities declined to receive him again.
