The was a very large attendance last night in the Theatre Royal at the second meeting in connection with the temperance convention. G. C. T. Bro. Adams read a paper entitled "Industrial Economy and the . Drink Traffic." Mrs Tasker then moved, That it is of great importance that the children of the colony be taught scientific temperance, and that efforts be made to introduce into the schools a suitable text book.— The Rev. Mr Cocker seconded tbe resolution, wbich was carried. Rev. Mr Miller, of Napier, moved a resolution to the effect that the Convention gladly recognised the advances made in temperance legislation during last session, but protested agaiust the action of the Legislative Council in masculating the measure.— Seconded by Mr Grant and carried. Bro. G. Frost moved a resolution calling for the enforcement of the licensing laws, and asking the people to prove at the polls their determination to have national prohibition.— Seconded by Mr F.
