Sporting News.
The Committee of the Feilding Jockey Club met at the Denbigh Hotel last evening and transacted routine business, such as appointment of officers, etc., for the forthcoming Spring Meeting. The chairman, Mr W. A. L. Bailey, reported having received a telegram from Mr J. Stevens, | M.H.R., stating that the Colonial Secretary had, in consequence of a vote passed by the Conference, promised that be would have a totalisator permit granted to the Feilding Jockey Club for a second meeting this season, as soon as his health improved. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Stevens for his efforts in assisting to procure a second day's meeting for Feilding. It was decided to engage the Feilding Brass Band for the Meeting, and, also, that Mr Hill be requested to provide a second totalisator, the dividends to be paid out as one.
