THE WEATHER.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB. Sir,— Through the medium of your in* torestmg columns I should like to ask Messrs Fry and Goodbehere, both of whom favor the public with monthly reports of the rainfall, etc., whether, since the time that, they have been taking meteorological observations, we havo ever had such a long spell of bad weather at this time of the year ? Surely a spell of weather such as we have experienced this year must be unprecedented in the weather reports of New Zealand. I shall be glad to learn this information; and can either of these gentlemen hold out any hope from ob. serrations they may make that there is a possibility of our having two consecutive fine days this summer. I am, etc., Pabva Sol.
