» As a good deal of ignorance exists in regard to the number of members and values of the Friendly Societies of New Zealand, the following table, copied from the 18th Annual report by the Registrar of Friendly Societies and completed up to December 31st, 1894, will prove of interest. United Ancient Order of Druids, funds, £27,146 ; lodges or branches, 47 ; members, 8286. Independent Order of Rechabites, funds, £26,781 ; lodges or branches, 37 ; members, 1386. Independent Order of Oddfellows, £19,395 ; lodges or branches, 29 ; members. 1212. _ nn4 The Manchester Unity gained 294 members during 1893; Foresters, 299; Druids. 191 ; Rechabites, 69. The Manchester Unity averages 86 members and £2100 per lodge or branch ; Foresters, 85 and £1360 ; Druids, 70 and £577 ; Rechabites, 72 and £725 ; 1.0.0. F., 42 and L67o.— Mercury.
