Acceptances for the Feilding races close to-morrow evening at 8.30 p.m. Mr J. R. McMillan has had the misfortune to lose his colt, Fairplay (Somnus — Fugitive), who broke his neck at Woodville on Saturday. The colt was a very promising one, and Mr McMillan recently refused £60 for him. He was, as will be noticed, full-brother to Rangitira. Mr H. Craig's cheque for the C.J.C. Meeting amounted to L 2029 4s, by the aid of Euroclydon's three wins, namely — N.Z. Cup, L 1130; Derby, L4BO 14s; Canterbury Cup, L4OB 10s. Mr Stead was next on the list with L 648 7s. The sum of L3BO for tbe Metropolitan Handicap, won by Tbe Artist, at Riccarton, has been held over pending decision re protest. Derrett has now ridden the winner of the A.J.C. Oaks six years in succession, commencing in 1890 with Diadem, and following with Florrie, Dora, Ich Dien, Blue Fire and Bellicent. An offer of 20,000 guineas for Ladas has been refused by Lord Rosebery.
