Hospital Board.
The monthly meeting of the above was held yesterday. Present— Messrs Ravenhill (chairman), Goodbehere, Snelson, Bansom, Kendall, Saxon, " Lethbridge, Taylor, Park. Correspondence was read as follows:— From Treasury, forwarding subsidy amounting to £368 12s lOd. From Dr MacGregor, stating it was impossible to give each contributing body a separate representative on the Board. The arrangement made was, in his opinion, the fairest that could be made in accordance with the Act. From Mr Hankins, stating that the trustees in the Wiltshire estate had received an offer of £700 for the Palmers, ton North properties, and asking for a resolution adopting the executive committee's report recommending acceptance of the offer. From G. £. Young, expressing bis satisfaction at the skill and marked kindness shown to his son by the matron and nurses. The Executive Committee met on October 13th and recommended the ac* captance of an offer made to Mr Hankins to purchase the Wiltshire property for £'700 net to the trustees. Mr Ravenhill was instructed to interview Dr MacGregor in reference to the plan of the proposed cancer ward. On the motion of Mr Lethbridge, seconded by Mr Saxon, tbe action of the executive committee in agreeing to aocopt the sum of £700 net for the sale of the Wiltshire property was approved, and the Chairman and Mr Park were authorised to affix the seal of the Board to the deed of sale. Mr Pack said lie estimated the net proceeds from the Wiltshire bequest at £1500. Mr Snelson though a memorial picture and tablet should be erected in the hospital to the memory of the late Mr Wiltshire, and he moved to that effect. ascertain the price of one and report to the next meeting of the Board. Mr Taylor moved for a return showing the actual cost of maintaining each patient during the past year and the cost of maintenance for the current year. The motion was seconded by Mr Snelson and carried. Mr Goodbehere pointed out that only a guinea bad been paid to Dr Monckton for performing an operation on a child's leg at Feildiug. He understood that the amount was inadequate for the work done, and he moved that it be increased to two guineas. Seconded by Mr Snelson and carried. — Standard.
