VISIT OF NEW SOUTH WALES TEAM.
| Per Peess Association.] Christchurch, Novr. 14. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Cricket Council this evening a letter was read from the Secretary of the New South Wales Association, stating that provided the steamer was detained the New South Wales team would leave Sydney for New Zealand on December 7th, and the Union Steamship wrote stating that the steamer would be postponed till the date named. It was decided that only one New Zealand match should be played, and that in Christchurch on December 30th, 31st, and January Ist. It was resolved, That Christchurch appoint three men to select the New Zealand team—one from the North Island (if possible), one from Otago (if possible), and one from Canterbury ; the Committee to meet in Christchurch prior to the Wellington match to make the final selection. The appointment of selector was deferred tUI next meeting. Sydney, Novr. 14. The New South Wales cricket team expect to leave for New Zealand about December 7th.
