DEATH OF A POPULAR SKIPPER.
ANOTHER CHAMPION CYCLIST. (Per Press Association). Sydney, .November 14. The death is announced of Capt. Paton well known as the commander of vessels running between Newcastle and New Zealand with coal. Sydney, Noyr. 13. It is probable that the Premier will visit New Zealand during the recess. The Council postponed consideration of the Assembly's message on the Land and Income Tax Bill till Tuesday. Melbourne, Novr. 14. The minority report presented by two members of the Banking Commission condemns a State Bask, holding that farmers can be assisted under the present system. They also oppose the Govent monopolising the note issue. Brisbane, Novr. 14. Sir H. Norman was enthusiastically greeted on his departure. The occasion was seized to make a great public demonstration, and universal regret was expressed at the loss of a popular Governor. Adelaide, Nov. 14. Harris, the mile champion cyclist of England, has arrived here and hopes to meet Zimmerman in some of the forthcoming cycle evt-nta.
