TRUANT SCHOLARS.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB. Sic, — Will yon kindly allow me to ask the School Committee why there is no Truant Inspector ? And if there is, Why is he not doing his duty ? With a good, free education to be had so conveniently, there are a number of children becoming quite familiar objects on the streets during school hours. Now, if their parents are so ignorant or indifferent as not to know or care what their children are losing, the committee should get the R.M. to teach them the first necessary lesson. Allow me to remind them that the honor of a position lies in discharging its duties, even should they be unpleasant. Hoping the committee will feel its responsibility in the matter. I am, &c, Anti-Larrikin.
