' The Bank rate in Germany has been < raised from three to four per cent. i November 12. The leading financiers, including Roths- I childs, checked the fall on the Exchange, ! and even the most depressed stocks are ' now calming. Small investors insist that I speculators settle up at the end of No- I vember. i The tone on the Bourse has improved. I It is estimated the losses on Vienna alone amounted to two hundred million florins. ' The Turks attacked the American mission at Sachem, near Jerusalem. The missionaries escaped, but the servants were killed. The Porte has issued orders for the protection of the mission stations. France has ordered four warships to - Turkish waters. The Armenians at Zeitouni have yielded. A rising has taken place among the Druises, at Hawrom, and is extending. Several villages have been burned.
