Sporting News.
The Otaki races which were to have been held yesterday were postponed till to-day owing to the flooded state of the course and approaches thereto by the heavy rains on Saturday. As it was not decided to postpone the meeting till Monday morning a good number of sporting people arrived at Otaki by tbe trains from Wellington and Palmerston North, most of whom returned to their homes by the return trains being much disappointed as it had afterwards turned out such a nice day.
